I am super excited for this! I mean, if I’m being honest, my expectations are in a pretty good place because this series is very intense consistent from film to film and from segment a segment. I’m always chasing the Dragon for one that is as perfect as VHS2 Let’s make this happen, VHS beyond!

The Good… The Bad …and the Spooky 

The good

The first one is fucking rad! LIKE A FIRST PERSON SHOOTER ON CRAK! The alien design is pretty cool, simple Pulpy I’m here for it!s

In the second one, there is a bit of nerd fulfillment to see a terminator like character run amok! 

I’m a sucker for a good parachute mishap in this one has a fun one.

Stowaway is going to go down as one of the best segments in the series. The character is Nuanced and flawed in a very real way you can really feel her obsession and get little glimpses of what she’s turning her back on to indulge in her Exploration. The craft, the titular stowaway enters is unique and interesting. It shows you a lot without showing you any of the seams.

The bad 

“fur babies” is a bit of a lost opportunity. It’s not funny enough to be COMDEY scary enough to be HORROR comedy and The found footage element prevents it from being bizarre enough to be uncomfortably. 

Weird.

By the time we get to “live and let dive” we have had 2 really good POV in the chaos That it hurts this one. We have also seen every trick and scare happen in other horror movies.. heck in other entries in this series. This installment should have done more in the plan it was legit scary and new

This may be the least inspired wraparound in the series

The spooky 

There is a scenario in the first one were Vanquished foes rise again exclamation the way it’s framed in the both claustrophobic and endless darkness that the found footage brings is really spooky!

The alien at the end of the first segment Walk the line between ridiculous and terrifying. It’s just fake enough to look real like you’re seeing something you’re not supposed to see.

In the third segment All those people piled into a little Airplane is scary before Extraterrestrial chicanery occurs

If you don’t like plain turbulence stuff, you will not like this segment

What a plane craSH Especially well delivered under the restraints of this project!!

The Nana by punchline in “stowaway” is a fucking nightmare! For real

The alien at the end of the wraparound is scary looking

The Death Rattle

Despite the fact that we may never reach the quality of the second and first one (yeah I did that on purpose) despite the fact that some of them just aren’t good falling victim to their set time or gimmick, I’m really glad this series exists. It’s Halloween destination Viewing that I look forward to every year. This episode had two VHS Hall of Fame entries one pretty good one one inconsistent one and a bad wrap around in one out and out failure. I want more Found footage “Wardens”like cops + Rec  

What doodles thought? Too noisy left the room.
