first cut
Ti west made one of my favorite movies and then mad a string of very inconsistent films. MaXXXine is the 3rd part of a trilogy of films. I enjoy quite a lot. So now we go

The Good… The Bad …and the Spooky
The good
Their flick looks great! They spin an excellent job at re-creating the strip in the 80’s
Angel is an obvious influence on this movie and I think that’s rad
Some nice yellow lighting in the street stocking scene
Maxxine gets a life cast and it’s scary. Not just the terrifying flashbacks that occur when she’s in it not trusting concept of having trouble breathing, the cast itself looks terrifying.
I love the story is intertwined with the real life night stalker, And Satanic panic, The first two films were very small in the world of pearls brain or a small house on the edge of a swamp, but this is intriguing and expensive.
Kevin bacon plays a scumbag like no other!
I really love that this circling back to the first movie!
Mia Is once again outstanding!
I love that this final girl fights back , we have bypassed the wallflower portion of our evolution because she’s already become a final girl and now we’re seeing her life survival… After her evolution
I never thought I would see Kevin Bacon and Larry Fessenden would be chewing up scenery together
I love this look at the final girl . The trauma has hard and her killing. Does it mean the same thing that it meant to her before Her experience has made her predator if something gets in her way if something threatens her well-being it’s destroyed . I love it her upbringing with her life experience per the perfect beast Romine, the Hollywood streets
This movie keeps oscillating between Altman and de Palma and I love that
I absolutely adore the Satanic panic subversion
This movie loses its fucking mindAt the end ! It’s like this small little mystery collided with the end of their action movie
I want a trilogy about teddy
The bad
I really liked pearl but having this come out so far away from the X, it softens some of the reveals, like the puncture, I believe we saw him for a minute at the end of vex in now we’re supposed to be shocked . He’s in Los Angeles. Who the Sam hell is he!
The end wile it looked great was a bit bumpy. I feel like everything that was going on at the time smothered a big reveal.
The spooky
There is a great stalking , which looks right out of the 70s giallo happning on the set of a death wish movie! I love it!
There is a death scene in a video store. That is Argento as fuck! Sooo good
The chase up into the beach motel is perfect! The way it shot the music, Kevin Bacons, real threat perfect
The club!!! This scene Spookley captures the feeling of the amazing euphoria of a crowded dance floor that can change into a nightmare of the senses wants something goes wrong.

The Death Rattle
This movie is lit. I don’t know where all the hate came from! This is a very latest, my second favorite in the franchise, and could very well be my first could very well be coming my first favorite
What doodles thinks she loved the soundtrack and pretty lights
My Weasel Dooley style star ratings ****1/2
Would I buy it I’ll hold out for a set of all three but I will own this
