I don’t often watch trailers, but this one came my way and I gave it a look from that point forward. There was actually imagery in the trailer that really scared the crap out of me. From that point forward It became my most anticipated horror movie of 2024. But did it hold up to my lofty expectations?

The Good… The Bad …and the Spooky
The good
There’s a dry humor to this this flick that I’m really latching onto. A twin peaks vibe.
I expected this to be a slow burn, but this movie moves at a pretty good click
Incredible use of light and darkness in this flick. The stark Contrast of the whites and darkness. The earth Tones of the Bungalows
What this movie does with sound and simple camera tricks is more impressive than any practical or digital affect I’ve seen
This movie did what no other horror movie has done broke my hart
The cast is stellar
The use of music in Sparks score just set perfect mood
The bad
Honestly, I can’t say a single thing any of it shortcomings are probably disguised by, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I still felt it was almost perfect upon a second watch
The spooky
It seems like social awkwardness is the Pressure builder d’jour of 2024 horror. Its soooo good it is certainly my least favorite kinda real life dread
Scary car crash… triggers me every time
Everything about this family dynamic is real life scary
‘ the woman is scary AF
This movie drips with a David Lynch like atmosphere. As the tension ratchets up Monday locations become terrifying.
Having this much gun play with a child involved evokes real life scary stuff I don’t know if it was intentional or not

Best kill:
Best Scare: The bike seen the one that was in the trailer even though the trailer spoiled it it still worked
Best actor : this is tough but… I’m going to ho with Hunter Schafer they are phenomenal . Danny steves is amazing too but Hunter is

Best quote: I don’t think so

The Death Rattle
I loved this movie go see it now. If you haven’t seen it, the symbolism on hand is heavy, handed but is deliverd so eloquently that you need to step away to see the obvious. it’s basically all the FrontPage talking points distilled to a Surreal Nihtmare wrapped in relatable trauma & coming of age confusion

Would I buy it? Oh hell yea! Its hog in to live on my shelf and m digital collection! Hopefully whoever dose put it out gives it the love it deserves!
