 welcome to Transmissionz from Marz I can’t spell I have no concept of grammar .. or grampa so naturally I decided to start a blog .. this should pretty much tell you everything you need to know about me.

Song of the week:

Every 20 years or so a band comes along that reaches my upper echelon of bands. I had just been dumped and was making my way though a harty retail therapy. I had heard alkaline Trio and liked them fine but when I heard “from hear to infirmary” my life was changed for ever. 

It’s 2023 and the Chicago  Lads are back with “Blood Hair and eye balls” An expression the handsome and talented Matt Skiba’s mom would say to describe particularly howering nursing shifts when he was growing up. 

the critique in me could complain.  

“Every few years they try and go back from here to infirmary stripes down punk rock.”

“Every few years  Mr. Skiba finds another intrusive vocal effect”

“They lean a bit hard into Halloween metaphors (a practice I’m super guilty of)

And all that be true. But I love Alkaline Trio and I don’t care!! I love the Hook of this song. I love the intrusive vocal effects. I love it all! 

One of my favorite things is the understated Misfits style backing Vocals…heeeey wait a minute… I think I just Realized I’m a dummy!! 

I se what you did There Trio… I see what you did. 

I started this episode of “song of the week “ with a eye on a statement about loving an artist unconditionally.

And I stand by that. But there is a reason you love you favorite bands and sometimes they are a step ahead of you and remind you why you love them.

I fucking love alkaline trio. With all my hart and soul.
