1. 1987? Best year ever! The music in this flick is top notch

2. I was a big fan of this Director’s last movie. 

3. This movie is cruising right along. We have had a Prolog, Set up our family dynamic, some character development of a protagonist,  a false scare, some conjuring, like shenanigans, political opposition for a protagonist, a fucking explosion in our demonic possession all around the 20 minute mark That’s some judicial editing and pacing.   

4. This demonically possessed child just got to second base! Take that fredkin!

5. APope Franco “FUCKING” Nero!

So far the whole cast is quite good

6. The “Wrong pope” stuff from the trailer is still a good bit!

7. There is an eye bit early in the first priest/possessed kid  that’s pretty fucking dope! But the kid talking with a raspy British demonic voice looks like a Muppet, but honestly, otherwise everything about this first meeting is fucking cool! 

8. Impairment flashback no joke!!!! 

9. There is nothing new or original in the haunting element of this demonic possession, but it’s all done very effectively. On the flipside of that Russell Crowe is a pretty interesting characterHis face is strong is a little broken from the Stacy made in the past, but it’s certainly not the typical hard luck, Constantine Nor is he the super priest, Max von Sydow type exorcist.

He’s something new kind of like a Santa Claus. He’s not perfect. He’s been failed by the system which employs him in the bureaucracy around it. Haunted by mistakes he made.

10. This whole conspiracy. Angle  is super interesting. super interesting! A new wrinkle in the demonic possession genre. Almost moving too fast to appreciate how cool it is. The speed is a blessing and a curse. This  grand conspiracy is the only thing that suffers the family, who is been accosted by the evil, has become set dressing. 

11. We get a nice vomity throwback mother of all exorcism movies!! Then during the show down we get spidery other

12. The showdown is a little bit exorcists a little bit rec/evil dead!! keeping up Julius Avery’s 

Action horror traditions.

I didn’t think letting the devil taken as one axis is called Though I do think letting the devil take him is one exorcists all back to many . And some of this is a little too Marvel movie, there’s also a bit of bad CGI. but all in all this showdown is fucking cool. I mean I didn’t expect anybody to fucking explode! 

13. I wonder if I’m reading too much into it that the main evil is mostly presented as women.. maybe I’ll  uncover as upon future watches, which I will definitely be doing.

I’m definitely going to check out Samaritan!
