The Good… The Bad …and the Spooky 

The good:

I loved the not too subtle everyone trying to live up or being fucked up by parents subtext! 

I thought the story was really fun. 

As I was putting the cast list together IE TRYING TO DECIDE WHO TO CUT AND PASTE I realized that everyone on screen was in someway important to the story. Even the smallest amount of character screen time either enforced how someone turned out or showed us how they started. 

Normally, I would be irritated by somethings so referential.. this thing was one big giant reference! 

For the most part they handled all the references very well big and small! 

Despite the fact it was a comedy the kills were no joke! 

The Opening kill/ fight was amazing! I fucking loved it!

The bad:

Similarities to happy death day were more than distracting.

The mean girls. 

The mother aspects.

A time traveling slasher

Even the protagonist bore striking resemblance to each othe

There are also a lot of similarities final girls .

I get it… I understand what they were going for but the killers mask was dumb 

The spooky :

The opening hill was so brutal and breathtakingly action packed it has stuck with me throughout the day. Bravo

Sinister superlatives

Best kill: the First one.. 17 Stabs

Best Scare: the first kill had some haunting scary close calls and brutal bumps the fact that it was so rough and so dragged out made it tower above all else!

Best actor : Kiernan Shipka 

Best character: teen Blake Hughes

Best quote: “ let’s not have that be the point we take away from this”

The Death Rattle: 

This could have been a fucking mess but Directed by Nahnatchka Khan and the screenwriters managed to perfectly juggle all of the references (and there was a shit ton ) all of the characters all of the wonky science and all of the mayhem! I really enjoyed this! Far from perfect but way better then you would expect. Don’t sleep on this!
