The Good…The bad … And the Spooky!

The Good:

I thought the story was simple and elegant while be asking, wasn’t the best I was charmed by the characters  quipy dialogue.

The monster effects were super rad and  we saw plenty of it.

I can’t relate to a character, making poor decisions because he’s driven to madness by jealousy, But I think it’s way more interesting than someone just looking for money or power!

I’m always excited to see Lawrence “Fucking” Tierney.

They got a lot of world building out of using a lot of Viking mythology short hand.

The Bad:

As I mentioned before the acting was not very good. Way Below the Production value.

The worst part? This was a gory monster movie without  any gore!! Not a lot anyway!! The other special effects were so good I bet this thing could’ve been elevated to classic with increased amount of of splatter. Around halfway through my watch ic afraid I was watching a television edit but as far I can tell, this is the movie as the movie was released. With all that said I am a dummy and I could be Wrong! That monster movies don’t have to be a movie anywhere you want hundred percent know what I was babbling about.

The spookey:

Alexander Godunov  as The Clockmaker. His  weird lair  that him, and pre teen boy lived in .. it was not exactly scary but I have to admit that  it stuck with me throughout the day!

Sinister Superlatives:

Best kill:

The monster kills a bunch of Snobby art Folks!

Favorite scare:

There is a dream jump scare that actually really got me. I won’t spoil it though!

Best actor: Joan Severance

Best character: detective Fanducol

The Death Rattle

I liked this. It was the type of thing I would have watched on cable a lot as a kid. I can’t help but dwell on its potential. a Bit here, and a bit there. An exploding head here some gratuitous nudity there it could have been super duper rad. As it is it’s a Fun little 90’s Time waster. This was based of a book I would have loved to have seen more stories about detective Fanducol and more of Peter Riegert’s scenery chewing portrayal of him.
