AEW Revolution 2023

Zero Hour

Mark Briscoe & Lucha Bros vs. Ari Daivari & Varsity Athletes **3/4

(great outing by Marca Sterling’s Team, aside from that no surprises very fun match)

Revolution

Chris Jericho vs. Ricky Starks **1/2

(solid opener. Ricky Starks is going to be a giant star. She’s got the looks (if John Cena and Dwayne Johnson had a baby) he works from WWE main event style great what does athletic enough to do a lot of stuff. Jericho is a legend if he has lost a step he doesn’t show it when it matters.)

The Final Burial

Christian Cage vs. Jungle Jack 

(a twist on the casket, match/buried alive. This is been a well-built feud, despite some silliness and stops and starts. Christian wore a sleeveless turtleneck to the death match party. I would like this look to become a new trend in the hard-core Deathmatch wrestling world. 

The Elite (c) vs. House of Black ****3/4

(house of black is the most underutilized act in pro wrestling. The elite is the most reliable back in pro wrestling, seldom anything less than 4+ stars) I was torn and super excited for this match and I was not disappointed!! 

 more great stuff by two great outfits. I’m excited for a rematch. I’m surprised and happy by the outcome. )

Texas Death Match

Jon Moxley vs. Hangman Page in Texas Death Match ****3/4

(Wild brutal awesome stuff. I’m a bit confused by the ending why have a lights out match with a tap out finish? But this is some great drama and gore) 

AEW Women’s championship

Jamie Hayter vs. Ruby Soho vs. Saraya for the ***3/4

(it’s a great year for women’s matches so far. I have to be honest, I legitimately wasn’t sure who was going to win the outcome, and the aftermath were pretty obvious in retrospect, but AW keeps me on my toes..)

AEW Tag titles

The Gunns vs. The Acclaimed vs. Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal vs. Orange Cassidy & Danhausen ***

(silly and overbooked, but they really did a good job building to this, even though it didn’t seem like they were because it just seemed like a bunch of random skirmishes I enjoyed this, but there was nothing particularly memorable.)

TNT Title

Wardlow Vs  Samoa Joe **

(this was the worst match the night. Just not great.)

Iron Man match for the AEW World championship

MJF (c) vs. Bryan Danielson *****+ 

(one of the best wrestling matches I’ve ever seen! 

Just watch it!!! it really had everything. 

At the end of the year I suspect this will be a interesting old school book end to the omega, osprey match. Absolutely great.)

This was a really great show. I feel like it’s actually been underappreciated on the Internet. If you did for some reason you should definitely check it out. The reason it took so long for me to get my review up is the show was a mix of a PWG show and a new Japan show it was just more than I could observed in one watch.
