AEW All Out 2022: stars and thoughts (and pick em results

All out zero hour

Mixed tag team match: Tay Melo and Sammy Guervara vs. Ruby Sho and Ortiz. ***3/4

(sooooooo fun!! Love it! Very nice makeup homage by our baby faces! These mixed matches have been a blast and this was the best one so far!!! I hope ruby is it hurt too bad)

Who I picked: Tay Melo and Sammy Guervara

Who won: Tay Melo and Sammy Guervara

1/0

FTW Championship: Hook (c) vs. Angelo Parker. **1/2

(Hook still has some work to do but is charisma is undeniable and so far everyone has protected him. I’m a fan for the jujutsu gimmx and the big mark for his dad so I always enjoy his matches!

Angelo Parker was always super cool to us, he’s got better and better every single year and he’s cruising on all cylinders right now. Fun  simple stuff. Post Mach was a bit sloppy)

Who I picked: Hook

Who won: Hook

2/0

AEW All Atlantic Championship: Pac (c) vs. Kip Sabian. ***1/4

(kip has really become a great character. some good stuff in here. I’d rather see Park in a bit more of a wrestling match in a bit less of a sports entertainment match)

Who I picked: Pac

Who won: Kip Sabian

2/1

Eddie Kingston vs. Tomohiro Ishii. ****1/2

(this was exactly as I expected and I am I’m more than OK with that! I’d love to see Eddie in the G1. I’d love to see the pitbull fight for the AEW title)

Who I picked: Eddie Kingston

Who won: Eddie Kingston

3/1

Main Card:

Ladder Match for AEW Championship

Wheeler Yuta Vs Rey Fenix Vs Rush Vs

Andrade El IDolo Vs Claudio Castagnoli vs. Dante Martin Vs Penta Vs the joker ****1/2

(A good Mix of Greatest Hits and state of the art! It would be easy for your expectations to be crazy this match had three legitimate freaks of nature! Claudio showed how crazy strong he was in Martin fenix looked outrageous! It also featured three of the best workers in modern Lucha libre, so if your expectations were outrageous it’s understandable but this match definitely delivered.. snd both it’s crazy surprise ending and crazy stunt show.

Speaking of the ending Tony Khan even does “overbooked” better than the WWE. The ending was executed perfectly the mystery mob came out of nowhere! The Stokely reveal was perfect.. and then the joker! Sympathy for the devil by The Rolling Stones..  wow just wow! When I picked the Joker I did have anything like this in mind!)

Who I picked: The Joker

Who won: The Joker

4/1

AEW World Trios Championship: Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks vs. Adam Page and The Dark Order. *****

(Fucking great!!!!! Story! In ring! It’s got it all! Sooo great! Anybody who said Kenny Omega was wearing a shirt because he was out of shape can clearly go fuck themselves sideways because he looks amazing! Taz is fucking hilarious “ lot of pronouns who is this he”! Alex Reynolds is super over! Hangman protecting Matt Jackson didn’t really go anywhere tonight it just sort of slowed things down. Kenny and the hangman in the center of the ring was chill inducing!   What a great moment! Alex Reynolds was over like Rover! I was legitimately surprised. Even though the Cowboys conflict is not coming over there was a great natural story here Doc on her have a very every man presentation they seem more like a bowling team than a wrestling faction the bucks and omega are so available complete nerdy Rockstars talented and came back up there bragging and will probably mock you for not have an Amazing fantasy 15 because they all have three! Dressing ridiculous and thinking it’s cool ! You love to hate him and love them despite yourself ! Meanwhile how can you not route for Johnny Hungee! Super blue-collar . Mega looked super great escaping from a couple of near falls without assistance, 100% back to His  Unparalleled form! Everything about omega and Paige rivalry was awesome in this  Match! A couple of amazing V trigger Reversals that lead to near Falls that suck to me and the live crowd in !! There was also an awesome call back to the infamous Buck shot lariat moment . Clever little ending performed to perfection!)

* I don’t know if they have any amazing fantasy 15 but it’s a metaphor ya know?

Who I picked: Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks

Who won: Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks

5/1

TBS Championship: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Athena. ****

(This is the best Jade match Ever!!! Athena Really did it all here! Her charterer stuff didn’t suffer wile she was directing traffic! Exceeded expectations by a bunch! It would seem like Jade is working really hard and Athena knew this was her opportunity to lose. I was honestly impressed I hope that this is what Jay looks like going forward. Was a great story Athena was fast Jade was strong Athena was  Savage Jade was crafty, Jade survived by being a super athlete and won by combining her speed crafty and power! Did I mention it was great in ring storytelling?)

Who I picked: Athena

Who won: Jade Cargill

5/2

Wardlow and FTR vs. Jay Lethal, Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley. ****1/2

(Machine guns looked as good as ever maybe better than ever! Really great tagteam wrestling, double teams Aplenty! I get that people like the  Power bomb  symphony but I felt like the end was kind of flat, but otherwise This was another awesome match with an even better post match! Samoa Joe, FTR, Samoa Joe and CM punk super faction! Book IIIIIT)

Who I picked: Wardlow and FTR

Who won: Wardlow and FTR

6/2

Ricky’s Starks vs. Powerhouse Hobs. ***3/4

(This build was so strong that  Who ever lost here was still winning. Starks looked super pissed and fought like it. Hobbs is going to be a star and it really shown through today . Starks is probably going to be an even bigger star, he’s a Natural heel but this match showed that he was a great selling baby face with a lot of fire. I feel like Austin theory is dollar store starks. This was Well put together stuff. Left the door open to more story and more matches)

Who I picked: Starks

Who won: Powerhouse

6/3

AEW Tag Team Championships: Swerve in my Glory (c) vs. The Acclaimed. *****

( Keith Lee’s entrance music sounds like a lonely Island song! So, some folks think it’s lessening  to point out, to even  mention this sort of thing but… this is two great African-American teams and an African-American referee! On ppv pretty cool! The Acclaim is super over! Nice bit of sports style commentary by Excalibur! You pointed out that a rescue dropkick may have done more harm than good and I often think that. Mean the last thing I want if my leg is being bet uncomfortably in One Direction is something to happen to make the   Bending party  dive in that direction! Jim dandy! this was a great match. Great atmosphere . Wow. Another case of  Athleticism and storytelling clicking to make something special)

Who I picked: Swerve in my Glory

Who won: Swerve in my Glory

7/3

Interim AEW Women's Championship: Toni Storm vs. Jamie Hayter vs. Hikaru Shida vs. Britt Baker. ****

(they don’t have the deepest women’s division roster, but this is the best they have to offerEveryone looked great!! Everyone shined! Baker has really improved in ring in a character work just gets better and better ! Great job telling overarching stories with in ring  Work! There was a turn here.. or at least of a trail that normally in modern wrestling would be handled in promos and segments but it enfolded organically in the match! I miss that sort of elegance is what makes wrestling different than any other  Art form)

Who I picked: Hayter

Who won: Storm

8/4

(My pick Em margin is getting scary!!)

Christian Cage vs. Jungle Boy. **1/2

(Simple well done)

Who I picked: Cage

Who won: Cage

9/4

Bryan Danielson vs. Chris Jericho. ****3/4

(This was some main event best of all time level stuff!! Lionheart was having a hard time keeping his britches up! We got two “I’ve got till 5 referee”, and that makes me very happy!

Who I picked: Danielson

Who won: Jericho

9/5

House of Black vs. Darby Allin, Sting and Miro ***1/2

(Pretty fun. Could have been better! Had some fun Spots! House of black still loooks great wile mostly losing. rumor has it the house black did some sort of Curtain Call I hope whatever is going on they can come to terms because black is one of the best things in this federation)

Who I picked: House

Who won: Darby Allin, Sting and Miro

9/6

(it’s getting scary again!!)

AEWa Championship: Jon Moxley (c) vs. CM Punk.****1/4

(this felt like a classic southern  Brawl mixed with some modern flourishes! Mocks sold at the beginning minus any ego he took a heel like beating! If there is real heat Mox and punk are pros. Not the way I would’ve liked it to go but great ending. 2 go to sleeps left mox looking strong!

Post match called All the way back to classic CM punk.. Tony Khan rates pro wrestling like a comic book writer! Using elements of not only his “run” but all of the history of wrestling! I can’t wait for what comes next!)

Who I picked: Moxley

Who won: Punk

9/7

Final thoughts! This show was amazing. Worth checking out if you didn’t get it. Not a bad match in the bunch!

Great in ring great booking! Pretty incredible show!!

My pick ups got close! Too close for comfort!! But I picked pretty good!
