13 Thingssss: Obi-Wan episode four

Welcome to 13 Thingssss this is gonna be 13 random thoughts I have about something and I just took in!! I hope you enjoy it and thanks for reading!

This week Obi-Wan season one episode four!

Obi-Wan episode four

1) I’ve seen seen shot on video action movies with better fight choreography than this episode of Obi wan. tala escaping from the storm troopers looked like backyard wrestling. The gun battles were terrible shaky Bourne identity rip offs. So ugly and uninspired. On  show that’s doing everything else right to have such terrible uninspired action is an absolute sin. Since they started doing these live action series I’ve heard everything from “ no one watches Star Wars for the action” to “ they are trying to make it look more like it used to look in the original trilogy” (translation they’re spending all this money to make it look crappy) I find both those responses as lazy and thoughtless as Action in this episode

this is the worst action of the four and some of the worst of the episodes so far and some of the worst of the live action overall. I was so mad!

2) I hope the boys spoke about the fact that the best action set peace in this episode was directly ripped out of the last story in resistance!! 100%!! Even the way they shot it as they waited for the last-minute the flood the chamber and flood out the pursuing first order troopers was exactly the same. Go resistance!!

3) Reva is the best Best villain since the TV shows have started . She is a great actress. I may be incorrect of some of her motivations but I believe we’re going to be able to see a great deal of sympathy pouring out of the origins of her monomaniacal revenge vendetta.

4) Vader is fucking awesome. Top five best villain of all time.

1. Joker

2. Vader

The iconography of his helmet the brutality of the way the story is handling him this is an incredible addition to the Vader Canon

5) i’m anxious to see what they’re doing with the supposed death of the grand acquisitor. I’m afraid as we jet towards the last episode we may not get any satisfactory answers.

6)  Vivien Lyra Blair is incredible. She’s every bit as adorable as any sort of toy mongering marketing devised character The most money making mythology has tossed away so far. Butter performances more layer than new ones that I have seen in a child actress in a long time. She is legit acting circles around just about everybody in the show!

7) I marked out for snow speeders

😎 not to be the dead horse but the escape from the hanger scene lacked any suspense or excitement. We had a beautiful scene where the venture inquisitor arrived on deck her light saber drawn followed by a platoon of storm troopers and then it turned to shaky cam amateur hour editing. On paper that could’ve been a scene equal to Luke and Leia swinging to safety, The Darth Maul fight or jabba’s barge. But instead it was boring and ugly and dumb

9) OK I’ll admit it I don’t hate McGregor anymore I think he’s doing a great job. This is a hard role towing the line between sympathetic character, hypocritical single-minded Jedi and totally destroyed human being.  Not that you give a spot of Tonton poop but you have earned my respect and my apology.

10) I enjoyed the scene between Tala and Reva. It didn’t all stick the landing but I love that sort of mental chess it’s what made me a fan of 70s British crime and spy dramas. Two brilliant minds one lie and an incredible verbal and mental tug-of-war. Like I said it wasn’t all perfect but it was certainly very well written.

11) Star Wars troglodytes must be losing their mind over how female centric this series is. More than 90% of the running time in this episode was devoted to the interactions and actions of Lady people. To make matters even sweeter it was smart well written well acted and well done. I really hope it does make them angry I hope they cry themselves to sleep on the big Sexist pillow!!

12) i’m not 100% sure I’m into the design or maybe just the delivery of the Imperial probe droid. It was cool because it looks a bit like the spy droids from the animated stuff but I like how bulky and cephalopod looking it was, The sliaker version looks less like a animated octopus and more like a squid.. or a small Lovecraftian beast.. ok maybe it’s growing on me

13)  what Obi-Wan found beneath the fortress was absolutely chilling. I can’t believe they went there. I can’t believe that exists in this mythology. Just when I think I know the limits of a galaxy far far away something kicks my sensibilities directly in the Jub Jubs  my jaw hit the floor and then I picked it up and it hit the floor again! Wow! That’s some doc shit to place in such close proximity to my child memories Star Wars folks! It’s disturbing and disgusting and I love it and I’m totally here for it!
