A-Block Shota Umino x  vs. Gabe Kidd

Uncle Dave stars: ****

Who I Picked :

Who won :

Shota Umino 1-2-1 = 2

Gabe Kidd 2-0-2 = 4

(Gabe kids crowed brawling has been awesome but the opening of this is dumb and lazy. This is a another great back-and-forth match!)

***********************

B Block Taichi x vs. KENTA

Uncle Dave stars:

Who I Picked : Taichi

Who won : KENTA

Taichi 2-0-2 =4

KENTA 2-0-2 =4

(First time meeting!! Imagine being the owner of defy and hearing your promotion name drop and your world title in the middle of the G1!! Must be rad!!

Ridiculous belt off wasting time. We were one minute a.m. when everybody was already laying around. Fun stuff)

*******************************

A Block Yota Tsuji x  vs. Chase Owens

Uncle Dave stars: ***3/4

Who I Picked : Yota Tsuji

Who won : Yota Tsuji

Yota Tsuji 1-1-2 =3

Chase Owens 2-0-1= 4

(Chase Owens  just looks better and the deeper and deeper this tournament go’s! Yo ta is going to be a big big star! Of all the graduated young lions I can see him having a great run stateside. This match told the story of the crafty veteran being multiple steps ahead of his younger appointment, but not being able to him down. I have no idea how the points of this block are going to look at the end! )

****************************

B block Tanga Loa vs. El Phantasmo x

Uncle Dave stars: ***3/4

Who I Picked : El Phantasmo

Who won : El Phantasmo

El Phantasmo 1-0-3 = 2

Tanga Loa 2-0-2 = 4

( I think new Japan needs a smart ass, American baby face, and I think El phantasmo is that guy. I don’t know why I’ve become such a sucker for the baby face Gorillaz of destiny, but I definitely have. I had low expectations and  it definitely over preformed!)

***************************

A Block Ren Narita X vs. Hikuleo

Uncle Dave stars: **3/4

Who I Picked : Ren Narita

Who won : Hikuleo

Hikuleo 1-0-3

Ren Narita 0-3-1

(I really like these big man little man match his butt the big guy seldom capitalizes on his big man stature! you did a little better here, but not enough to tell the story of power versus technique. But not a bad match at all)

**************************

B Block Kazuchika Okada vs. YOSHI-HASHI X

Uncle Dave stars: ****

Who I Picked : YOSHI-HASHI

Who won : Kazuchika Okada

Kazuchika Okada 0-0-4

YOSHI-HASHI 2-0-2

(me and the historic Herkenhoff was really pulling for Yoshi. It was a fun match and if I’m being honest they had me tricked by the momentum and near falls.) hey

**************************

Who won : SANADA

SANADA 0-0-4 = 8
