Song of the week: murder city, devils, idle hands
Song of the week!
I’ve been dealing with pain stemming from Nerve damage for over a week. I’m I’m cranky. I’m irritated. And finding it hard to enjoy.. well anything! (Though l I did get a good laugh when my voice, recognition changed, “cranky and irritated”
to “Frankie and Amputated.” )
This song is just what I needed.
Back 100000 years ago me and one of my favorite folks exchanged mix CDs. My buddy and musical juggernaut known as Myra K-Rock gave me a Dinnger of a musical buffet! This band was on there.
Since that time I’ve come to be a big fan of The Murder City Devils. I love the lyrics. I love their sound.
It’s raw it’s Driving It’s just what I needed on gloomy angry day.
I could probably right now say about all the reasons I like this song.. not the least of which being how brilliant it is and it’s raw simplicity, but the reality is today at work twofold it had the aggression I needed, but also reminded me of my budy.. who I miss doing art stuff with and I miss hanging out with.
Life is long and things change and move around. no matter what sort of distance is happening in peoples lives music is always “in case of emergency break the glass emotional memory holder” hit play and your back to the moment you herd it and the person who showed it to ya! Music is magic made by amazing wizards wielding unbelievable power. And sometimes that magic is very very black magic. In that black magic some of my favorite kinds.
“These idle hands
They do the devils work
These idle hands
They do a whole lot worse
These idle hands
They do the devils work”
