Guardians of the galaxy Vol 3

 Guardians of the Galaxy, vol 3 is fucking awesome. 

As of right now, James Gunn is the go to superhero movie guy ! 

This movie really stands out amongst the last bunch of Marvel films. You can really see the difference between a confident seasoned Director and a young hired gun (all puns intended.. always)

All the character arcs land in a great place . Not predictable, but not forced or outrageous. Every ending for every character makes perfect sense. 

All the performances are flawless. It’s not easy to tow the line between ridiculous and human being, but these people do it. I think the digital performance of rocket is really a modern triumphs in digital effects.

There’s not a week performance in the bunch. 

karen gillan is cementing her spot as a big budget action, hero goddess and if you leave the theater without wanting to hug Pom Alexandra    Mantis or want to hang out with me telekinetic Soviet dog I just don’t think we could be friends!

A lot of people have been really really really upset about the animal cruelty, and the allusions to concentration camps, and it is really fucking upsetting .

with all that said, the high Evolutionaries is a villain of the highest order! A Villain with a capital V! Chukwudi Iwuji nuanced mad scientist is probably the best villain in the history of the Marvel cinematic universe, and when I say best, I mean most vile deplorable disgusting. Everything a real villain should be ! You’re not just rooting for the guardians because they are our heroes. You’re rooting for the guardians because they’re facing a machine that makes metaphors to real life evil and we want that evil destroyed.

Warlock is responsible for some great action scenes, but other then filling out the roster and having a merchandise worthy pet he doesn’t have a lot of functionality. What he lacks in stake he more than makes up for in sizzle. His awesome opening attack on our heroes makes inclusion more than worth it. 

If I have one complaint, though, I probably like the music in this film better than other entries, it does seem a little out of place, despite the fact the zoom gives us a explanation of why we have been able to move out of the 70s and into the 80s and beyond. 

You will laugh you will cry you will pump your fist during the amazing slow Mo one shot hallway scene! It’s REAL good stuff definitely worth a theater viewing!!   if this is James Gunn’s last adventure in the Marvel universe, than the marvel universe is at a big loss, and I’m excited for the giant quality shift. The DC universe is heading towards with him at the wheel.

But fuck imagine what is avengers would’ve been .. imagine him tackling Defenders or new Warriors.. you blew it Disney/marvel you really fucking Blew it!!
